The high quality of the presentations that we have at the Mini iMoot is what keeps both presenters and attendees coming back year after year. If you are new to presenting at an Mini iMoot - don't worry, you'll get help and guidance from the team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

To submit a presentation proposal please select the 'Add Entry' tab below. We'll do the rest, and get back to you to confirm whether it has been accepted.

Sessions for the Mini iMoot are to be a maximum of 45 minutes long including question time.

Killing Two Birds with One Stone - Using the Power of Moodle to Teach Two Things at Once

Description of Presentation

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an approach used in language teaching to instruct learners in language skills and another subject at the same time.  This can put quite a strain on the teacher.  Moodle can help.  Using a combination of good teaching practice and the online environment that Moodle can offer, the teacher can effectively cover all the bases leading to an altogether better learning experience for the student.  Although each scenario is different, various combinations of live, asynchronous, automated, and face to face elements will be examined.

There will be time after the presentation for questions and comments. 

Although this presentation and discussion uses CLIL as a basis, the approach will be of interest to any teacher or course creator who is dealing with a complex or diverse subject material.
